Meet the Team
James G. Maxwell is President of BearPath Management Consulting, Inc., which he founded in 2003. Jim’s career spans over 30 years working with clients in a breadth of industries including oil and gas, chemicals, fibers, agriculture, electronics, staffing groups, plastics and non-profits.
Experience
He has experience applying methodologies in: process improvement, performance planning, new business development, vision and strategic development, financial planning, project management and management consulting. Most recently, he led a project team to improve their sourcing from China and implement supply chain savings. Jim worked in Alaska for eight years enhancing their planning, budgeting and execution of projects conducted on the North Slope of Alaska for a major oil company. Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Consultant within E. I. Dupont for 15 years with a number of individual business units and leaders.
Methods
Jim developed his own “tool chest” of methodologies in the area of Vision & Strategy and is currently writing a book to help others in this practice area. His involvement in South and Central America contributed to significant growth in sales and profitability. While at Dupont, Jim helped to create an internal consulting practice that grew from four consultants to 120 in five continents. Jim has experience in many competency areas and is known for his broad-based experience and creative application of the methodology in helping to solve clients’ problems.
Education
Jim received his BS in Physical Sciences from Michigan State University in 1978 and his MBA in Finance in 1980.
Ron Mathos is a Partner at BearPath Management Consulting. His career spans over 30 years, guiding, improving performance, and innovating processes for clients in the automotive, chemicals, fibers, agriculture, electronics, plastics, and non-profits industries. During this time, he collaboratively improved profits along his target value chains of well over $4 million. Ron’s approach is value-led, purpose-driven, and passion-fueled.
Experience
Ron has experience applying methodologies in profit improvement, innovation, business development, vision and strategic development, project management, and management consulting. He has successfully led over 100 innovation project teams to improve application and business systems. He planned and executed a joint industry-academia effort to build an alliance of leaders of over 100 firms, to develop vision, structure, assessment, strategy, detailed operating plans, performance monitoring, and problem-solving at Ferris State University. The work resulted in building the largest customer-focused plastics college in the USA at Ferris State University: The Plastics and Elastomers School of Technology. He worked as a senior leader at E. I. Dupont for 25 years with several individual business units and leaders collaboratively improving profits by over $2 million. At DuPont, he led the development and implementation of best practices, including collaborative problem-solving.
Education
Ron received degrees in chemical engineering and polymer science from Carnegie-Mellon University and was a member of numerous programs with DuPont University and the University of Delaware MBA program.
